GCA’s turnover has doubled during the last 10 years to achieve 1.6 billion euros today. What is your development strategy?
For three generations, we had a pragmatic and opportunistic strategy. So we generally do organic growth when there is place in the market, when markets are expanding. We do external growth when markets are mature to improve our geographical coverage, or to acquire know-how that we do not have. Our approach is very interactive with the field, that is to say with our subsidiaries.
We systematically study all opportunities. We are obviously very attentive to the needs of our customers and we do not hesitate to expand our know-how when they request it."

You are the third generation at the head of GCA. Are you already preparing for the transmission of your company?
In a family business, you must always think about transmission. We are committed to the long term, with the idea of always preparing for the future rather than undergoing it. I am lucky that my two sons joined the company several years ago, and that they demonstrated their passion for this profession. The fourth generation is on its way, which gives perspective to our customers and employees. The eldest, Charles, heads the transport and distribution division, and Arthur, the younger, the automotive logistics, industrial logistics and Transports Caillot division. They started in a subsidiary, on the ground and knew perfectly the trades. It is a great gift, because it was not only important for me to continue the construction initiated by my father and grandfather, something that made sense, but also to transmit and put the company in good hands, to ensure its sustainability and development.
